Grateful

Hoping that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving or enjoyed the long weekend! I always look forward to this time of year when I get to spend a lot time with my family in town. I’m keeping up the annual ‘Grateful’ blog that I started in 2020 - as it is a good reminder to focus on the positivity and reflect on memories.

Here are 5 things I’m grateful for in 2022:

New England. This Fall I was able to visit all 6 New England states! That has never happened in the same season for me before, so it’s a fun milestone! I finally visited Vermont for the first time and saw more of New Hampshire. New England truly is amazing, having so many options to visit within driving distance. I could never get bored of living here!

Mystic. I continue to be thankful that I live here. I’ve always said how this town was made for me! It still shocks me at times that I actually live here. I grew up in a rural area in Upstate New York so I can’t get over how I get to pass by the water/coastal scenes while running errands! It is just beautiful in Mystic.

Books. I know I listed this in 2020, but I am really thankful for all of the books out there. Especially more Deaf books that came out this year! I’m excited about that. I love sitting down with a good read to fall into another world for a while. I also got into bookstagram more on Instagram which has been exposing me to more books. I picked up many recommended books and loved most of them! I always enjoy talking books with others who love reading as much as I do!

Photographing. As I focused more on photographing this year, it also has opened up opportunities for me. I worked with CT Visit this summer, which was an amazing experience. I’ve always said how much I’d love to work with a tourism agency and now I can say that I did! It taught me a lot about what direction I want to go with photographing. I’m also grateful that I live in such a beautiful area that constantly gives me something to photograph daily!

Camping. I know I grew up in rural Upstate New York where camping was a popular activity but I never truly liked it until last year! It probably helps that the camper is a hard sided A-frame making it more cozy than camping in a tent! We went on a few camping trips this fall and I just loved it! Those camping trips are one of my favorite memories! I’m already planning ahead for the 2023 season!

Those are just some of what I am grateful for, as there are many more! I hope that you had a good year. Enjoy the holiday season that officially starts now!
