Book Review: Dreamland

I’m an avid reader of Nicholas Sparks. Going way back to the days of ‘A Walk to Remember’ and ‘The Notebook’. Ever since I’ve read every novel. Sparks also came to New London, CT a few years ago and I met him after the Q&A. I was so shy and didn’t say a word! You better believe how excited I was when I received the advanced reader copy! I had been anticipating this read!

Synopsis:

Colby Mills once felt destined for a musical career, until tragedy grounded his aspirations. Now the head of a small family farm in North Carolina, he spontaneously takes a gig playing at a bar in St. Pete’s Beach, Florida, seeking a rare break from his duties at home.

But when he meets Morgan Lee, his world is turned upside-down, making him wonder if the responsibilities he has shouldered need dictate his life forever. Review:

Right away, Colby was a very likable character. I was intrigued about what he was going to do about his music or the farm once he met Morgan. I could sense the sparks (no pun intentioned) between them. I also felt for Beverly, hoping that she found safety for her son and herself. Meanwhile, I was very confused how those dual storylines of Colby and Beverly would merge. Sure enough, there was a collision I wasn’t expecting. Nicholas Sparks executed his storytelling so beautifully. This book definitely made me flip the pages quickly to see what happened! The ending was a jaw dropper. You won’t be disappointed!

Dreamland will be released on September 20th.
