June reads
June started off with a lot of DNFs unfortunately but I did find some good reads this month. I can’t believe it’s already July. I know this summer will fly by. I try to find the time to read as I am more busy during the summer with other activities. I have a big pile of TBR (to be read) books for July!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND
This was my first Abby Jimenez novel and it did not disappoint. We meet Justin and Emma who both had bad luck with dating. Everyone they dated found ‘the one’ right after dating them so they came up with a plan to date each other to see if the 'curse’ will end. I really enjoyed this summer read. I laughed a few times as I was reading this book!

I admit that I watched Jersey Shore when it was on MTV. I was curious to read Mike ‘The Situtation’ Sorrentino’s memoir. I wasn’t aware that he had addiction issues while he was filming for Jersey Shore (social media was just starting to get popular then so I had no access to celebrity news). It was interesting to learn some things about behind the scenes.

WOW. Just wow. I will remember this book for a long time! A historical fiction about Bina, a wealthy Polish Jew who was taken to the Warsaw ghetto with her family. During that time period, she was a part of the resistance and was able to pass as an Aryan woman. Once she gets to America, she became a famous actress but she can’t forget the war. She hunted down former Nazis and made sure that they paid for their war crimes. A powerful read that I read in one day!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND
I really enjoyed the last two books in the Housemaid series by Freida McFadden. This is the third book. It’s the perfect quick thriller read, I ate this book up in one sitting! The only thing I disliked was the child abuse (so trigger warning).

This is a must read. I’ve considered Tishby to be a great role model for the Jewish community with her advocacy. She educated about the history of Israel her last book ‘ISRAEL’. In this book, she has a dialogue with Emmanuel Acho (a Black man) about everything Jewish. This is excellent book to start or improve your allyship on combating antisemitism.
These are the books I DNF (Just could not stay interested to continue reading):
